Lunch time is 12:00 - 1:00pm. Children can choose from the menu of delicious hot, nutritious and balanced meals, or bring a packet lunch.

Each child will need a school bag to carry their reading book and diary to and from school each day in. We hope that parents share the reading books at home with their child and log this in their diary a minimum of 3 times per week.

We have purpose built, child height toilets and sinks. We encourage children to use the toilet independently. We can help support your child with toilet training, please let us know if you think your child might need extra support. We ask that all children have a change of clothes in their bag, we do however have spares just incase.

Our branded school uniform is available to purchase from the school office.
Sweatshirts - £9.50
Cardigans - £10.50
Fleece - £12.00
Book Bags - £5.50

During our Autumn 1 term, the children spend the time getting used to our school hall for PE lessons. We play lots of listening games. From Autumn 2 we ask the children to come into school in their PE kits. Nursery PE day is Tuesday.

We teach phonics daily in Foundation. We follow Letters and Sounds, which is a high-quality systematic synthetic phonics programme of proven effectiveness. In Nursery, we learn Phase 1. In Phase 1 of the DfE’s Letters and Sounds program, children focus on developing their speaking and listening skills. They focus on listening to the sounds around them and also begin building on their segmenting and blending skills. We will send out further information on how to support your child at home with their learning.

Guided Reading:
We teach guided reading sessions daily in Foundation. We use lilac books in Nursery, and our main focus is how to hold a book correctly, turning pages one at a time and discussing the book through the pictures.

Forest School:
We have a fantastic Forest School area on site here at Stanstead. We take the children to the Forest area to learn! We learn lots about the outdoors and how to be safe in the woods! We provide waterproof overalls to protect children's clothing at Forest School.

Wonder Wall:
Each child has their own unique space on the Wonder Wall. This is where children can choose to display their learning and achievements. We encourage parents to share any achievements from home such as certificates from swimming, dancing or football lessons outside of school. We will happily photocopy these and display them here.
