Reception Class Page
Welcome to Rainbow's Class Page
Here you will find some useful information about our class:
All children are expected to wear the school uniform:
- Grey/black trousers, skirt, pinafore or shorts.
- White or pale blue shirt, blouse or polo shirt.
- During warmer weather, children may wear a blue check dress.
- Blue jumper or cardigan. And or school fleece jacket.
- Black shoes.
Please ensure all uniform is labelled correctly with the child's name.
Reading books will be changed in school once per week. Please bring your child's book bag to school everyday, containing their reading book and diary. Due to Covid 19, returned books will be kept in a separate basket for 72 hours before another child can take it home. Please aim to hear your child read (or read aloud to them) a minimum of 3 times per week and sign this in their diary. We will be collecting and checking reading diaries for our reading reward system. Children will earn badges the more they read.
We will have P.E on Tuesday afternoons. Due to COVID 19 guidelines children are expected to come into school wearing a full P.E kit on this day. The school PE kit is a plain white t-shirt or polo shirt, blue/black shorts or jogging bottoms and plimsolls or trainers. We have a 'no jewellery' policy in P.E lessons, for the children's safety. If your child can’t remove/replace their own earrings please take them out on PE days. We are not allowed to cover earrings with plasters, they must be removed.
The children can come straight into school between 8:45 - 9:05. They will head straight to their classroom to put away their belongings (coat, water bottles, reading book bags, lunch boxes) and to wash their hands.
Lunch is at 12 noon and is followed by a period of outdoor play weather permitting, supervised by our midday supervisors. As we are a healthy school, please provide your child with a healthy lunchbox if your child is having a packed lunch.
Children will be dismissed at the staggered times between 3.05 and 3:25 pm from the blue gate. If your children are being collected by a different adult on a particular day then the teacher must be informed. Without this, children will not be allowed to leave the school grounds.
