Here are some common questions asked regarding Stanstead admissions:
Reception admissions-
What age is reception class?
For a Reception place in September 2023 your child should have been born between 1st September 2018 and 31st August 2019 inclusive. Our reception class is for 4 year olds who turn 5 that school year.
How do I apply for a place?
Our online & paper admissions open in November through the Nottingham City Council admissions website. Nottingham City Council strongly encourages applications through the online admissions system.
What information do I need to provide?
You will need to follow the instructions provided, the form will collect information about parents and the child, and you will also be asked to select four schools in order of preference. One of these schools should be your catchment school, although it does not have to be your top choice.
When do reception applications close?
Applications for a Reception place- September 2023 close on 15th January 2024.
When is National Offer day?
The national offer day for primary school applications is 16th April each year (or next working day if the 16th is a weekend or Bank Holiday). If you applied online, you will receive an email on the offer day notifying you of the outcome of your application (unless you indicated on your application you do not want to receive the decision by email). A decision letter will be posted to the applicants who applied using a paper application form, sent by send class post on the offer day and not before.
I have forgotten to application for a Reception place?
If you applied after the closing date of 15th January 2024, you will receive a decision on your application from the end of May onwards.
Applications for another year group/ in year transfer-
Can I apply for my child to join another year group? Yes you can, you will need to submit an application through the Nottingham City Council website.
What happens if the class is full? Your child will be placed on a waiting list.
Do I have to wait until September for my child to start if they are accepted? No, the Headteacher will invite you in for a tour of the school and a meeting, in this meeting the start date will be discussed.
