From the Nottingham Post:

School Children are to learn how to be creative with waste.

The city council's Waste in School Education officer is to visit several schools in the next week. Children have been asked to collate old textiles, buttons, ribbons and materials so they can be recycled to make Christmas decorations, which can be reused year after year.

Councillor Nicola Heaton, portfolio holder for community services at the council, said: "The Christmas workshops teach children how to make the most of waste that is produced and how it can be recycled to make things that can be reused over and again."

Schools involved include Seely Primary in Sherwood, Carrington Primary, Stanstead Primary in Rise Park and William Booth Primary in Sneinton.
