World Book Day - 2nd March 2017

Categories: Latest News

The whole school community joined in with the spirit of World Book Day today. As well as the children, staff and parents got together for a mass Snuggle Up and Read session this afternoon!

It was a sleepy start to the day with children arriving in their pyjamas and dressing gowns. Throughout the day, Years 1 to 6 had wonderful sessions with the talented story teller Tony Wilson. Check out his stories on YouTube. There were regular reading bells throughout the day where everyone had to drop what they were doing and pick up a book. It was wonderful to see different classes working together to read to each other and share a book and there were lots of other reading activities taking place all day. Every child left school with a new book to keep at home. The best part for most though was the Snuggle Up and Read session at 2:45 when parents and carers were invited in to share a story as well as a drink and a biscuit! Over 50 parents signed into school to join in with this event!
