Bat Box Builders - February 2017

Categories: Latest News

Our School Councillors and Green Monitors built bat boxes today to provide safe homes for bats around our school. Children were taught, then closely supervised, to use tools safely and effectively.

Bats homes are called roosts but there are not enough natural roosts locally. Bat boxes are artificial roosts designed to encourage bats into areas where there are few roosting sites.

Local councillor Eunice Campbell came to check out are handiwork! The bat boxes are now strategically positioned around our site. Have you spotted any?
